Our Approach

Bubblesplitz uses minimal browser storage. We prioritize localStorage over cookies and don't use any tracking or advertising cookies.

What We Store Locally

Player ID

bubble-blitz-player-id

Your unique 8-character identifier. Generated on first visit, used to link your leaderboard scores.

Nickname

bubble-blitz-nickname

Your chosen display name, saved for convenience when submitting scores.

High Scores

bubble-blitz-highscores

Your personal best scores for each game mode, stored locally for display.

Third-Party Services

We use Vercel for hosting, which may set minimal technical cookies for:

  • Load balancing and performance
  • Security and abuse prevention

We use Besökskollen, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (such as page views). It is not used to identify individual users, and we do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising services.

Managing Your Data

To clear all local data:

  1. Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12)
  2. Go to Application → Local Storage
  3. Find the Bubblesplitz entries and delete them

Warning: This will reset your player ID. Save your recovery code first if you want to restore your leaderboard profile later!

No Cookie Banner Needed

Since we only use essential localStorage for game functionality (not tracking), and don't use advertising cookies, we believe a cookie consent banner is not required. However, we're transparent about what we store.
